Remanufacturing - Cam Out Retrofit    Print

The fastest infeed cycle anywhere.

CRI offers an excellent opportunity to increase production on small infeed parts. The cam-out retrofit produces one finished part for every revolution of the regulating wheel. Parts automatically drop out when the special cut out in the regulating wheel completes one revolution.

Parts can feed into the machine with simple loaders designed to fit the specific part or family of parts. Generally, a bowl feeder or hopper is used in conjunction with an injection or drop down style loader. Most parts require orientation prior to load. A loader is necessary because the machine will run between 600 and 1200 parts per hour. This rapid grind process is what makes the cam-out retrofit so beneficial.

The retrofit includes the changes to the dressing system that are needed to dress the regulating wheel eccentrically and the part drop insert in the wheel. A special cam for dressing is also included. Not every part is ideal for cam-out grinding. Generally, small infeed parts with stock removals of less than .006 are prime candidates and size tolerance greater than .0002.
