Gage without contacting the ground part. The CRI laser gage system is designed for scanning a part diameter in multiple areas. The laser gage will evaluate the current size, comparing reads to the target dimensions. Coupled with the CRI EZ-Touch control system there is built in gage screens that the operator uses to program part diameters with linear gauge positions, and tolerance parameters for each gauge diameter.
There are also SPC trend feedback screens plotting the history of the gaged parts and a Cp and Cpk capability feedback of the processes.
All preprogrammed gage data is stored with the other part data in the system’s internal Access database. This allows for quick retrieval of system and gage parameters during a part setup.
Once the part size is evaluated, the gage system will communicate to the grinder’s servo compensation system any required part size adjustment. With this closed loop architecture, the gage will maintain correct size control of the grind process.
