Our Grinding Wheel Frequency Drive allows for changing the speed of the grinding wheel during the life of the wheel, giving you greater control and flexibility. The drive is fully programmable, giving you the ability to run the grinding wheel at the surface footage that it grinds best at.  It is often used to improve stock removal and surface finish and to determine the best grade of abrasive to improve your process.

The Grinding Wheel Frequency drive is combined with either Programmable Dressing or CNC Dressing to give you constant surface feet capabilities, allowing consistent cycle times throughout the life of the wheel. These retrofits provide all the positions variables needed to determine the circumference of the wheel.

The program uses the position coordinates to maximize grinding wheel speed. Programming allows for increased grinding wheel speeds as the wheel wears. The change in grinding wheel speeds makes the grinding wheel act the same during the entire life of the wheel. This ensures consistent cycle times or constant surface feet throughout the life of the wheel.
