like dressing on the fly.Programmable Dressing provides a consistent dress through programmable parameters for traverse feed rates and diamond pick amounts.  The system eliminates all hydraulics to the dresser. Programmable Dressing achieves a simple to operate, consistent dress even with shift and operator changes for thrufeed and straight infeed operation.
Many advanced features are now available including dressing on the fly and constant dressing. These features are especially helpful in cell configuration often enabling continuous operation so the grinder has 100% uptime. Dressing on the fly is very useful for heavy stock removal operations, often allowing the operator to achieve one pass grinding.
Features include multiple variables like the ability to change the traverse speed from the front of the wheel to the back. This can be used to open up the wheel grain for better stock removal on the front half and change to a slower dress at the back of the wheel to obtain a better microfinish. Other variables include dress amount in either direction and the position for compensation activation and an offset for compensation. These variables are extremely useful when dressing on the fly to maintain size as closely as possible without stopping production to dress. CRI uses digital servo drives with absolute positioning capabilities so no rehoming of the grinder is not necessary, even in the event of power outages.
Programmable Dressing is available for both grinding wheel dressing and regulating wheel dressing control. When complicated steps or radial dressing is required, choose CRI’s CNC dressing option instead. Programmable dressing is available for most models of Cincinnati centerless grinders for improving the grinding process.
