Generates greater roundness.
CRI stocks Atlantic regulating wheels. These high quality regulating wheels are made free of hard spots, inclusions such as metal chips and pores. The grain distribution is extremely uniform due to a special mixing and casting process developed by Atlantic Germany, www.atlantic-bonn.de, and successfully applied in Europe for high precision grinding applications.
The traditional regulating wheels consist of grains held by a rubber matrix. Due to difficulties of processing with rubber, the distribution of grain and bonding material often causes undesirable variance. This results in a negative influence on workpiece quality and in some cases productivity.
To resolve this problem Atlantic developed the ED bonding system, a multi-ingredient resin based cold cementing bond. The development of an advanced manufacturing process that combines an intensive mixing of grain and bonding components with a tightly controlled curing process, ensures production of a homogeneous structure without air inclusions. These regulating wheels have proven to improve roundness generation on centerless grinding processes considerably. The consistency of roundness is remarkable throughout the life of these regulating wheels because of the uniform structure of the entire wheel. The grain contention is very strong and grain volume is significantly higher than traditional regulating wheels. This makes these wheels more wear resistant and provides longer dress intervals.
CRI application specialists tested regulating wheel formulations developed by Atlantic experts and concluded these to be the highest quality regulating wheel formulations available in 120, 150, and 180 grit size. For special applications 240 grit size is available. Many demanding as well as typical applications were targeted with outstanding results. Proven advantages include better roundness, cylidricity, surface finish, longer wheel life between dress intervals, as well as excellent grind control.

The precision regulating wheels are made in four different grit sizes 120,150,180 and 240 gritsize. For infeed grinding, special formulations are available specifically designed for plunge infeed grinding. To indicate an infeed application formulation an S needs to be added behind the grit size for example NK1-120 S BED9.
