The best in quality for the best production. CRI has the capability to develop a complete grinding process for remanufactured or new centerless grinders. Selection of the correct grinding and regulating wheels is essential. CRI decided not only to provide the initial tooling to start up production on the precision centerless grinders supplied, but also to include the service of providing grinding wheels to sustain the obtained performance. Also centerless grinders already for years in production can benefit from this service and can be optimized with excellent grinding wheel formulation to improve the current process.
The use of high performance abrasives has become an important function and economic viability of production in most areas of industry. The progress in tool development relates directly to the continued optimization of the quality of abrasive product. CRI has developed a partnership with Atlantic Germany, www.atlantic-bonn.de, to offer their customers top quality abrasive products. Atlantic has been a bonded abrasive manufacturer for over 80 years and supplies their excellent products worldwide.
The abrasives applied are a wide range of aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, diamond and cubic boron nitride. The grit size range is from 36 up to 1000 for centerless grinding wheels. The fine grit size grinding wheels are remarkable and capable of producing surface finish down to 2 micro inch Ra. The bonding systems available are in a wide range of vitrified and resin, developed for specific applications.
For grinders capable of safe operation at wheel speeds of 12,000 to 16,000 sfpm, grinding wheels with enhanced strength can be offered, however requests for wheel speeds exceeding 8,500 SFPM need to be evaluated to assure it is safe to operate at higher speeds on your grinder.
The formulation will be tailored to the application depending on quality requirements and productivity. The manufacturing of these grinding wheels is under strict control and the essential quality requirements checked for every product produced. Atlantic operates to ISO 9001 -16949-14001 standard.
For a request for quote, it is essential to have as much process data as possible available to be able to select the optimum formulation for the application.
